The interior design of Jennifer Garner’s home centers around a serene and neutral color scheme that highlights natural textures. According to designer Brooke, Garner’s passion for vintage items is evident in choices like an 1850s French farmhouse table and midcentury pieces from Swedish and Danish designers. The design reflects a playful yet soft aesthetic, mirroring Garner’s personality with gentle curves and whimsical touches.
The kitchen stands out as a particularly inviting area, boasting honed marble and soapstone countertops, comfortable mohair-covered breakfast chairs, and a fireplace that connects directly to the pool area. Designer Steve notes that Garner favors a cozy atmosphere, avoiding bold colors and instead choosing a tranquil ambiance.
Garner also aimed to create spaces conducive to family memories. Brooke elaborates that Garner had distinct ideas regarding her family’s needs in different rooms, leading to features like a cozy blue study and an upstairs reading nook, adorned with stained-glass windows crafted by artist Reed Bradley. These windows draw inspiration from illustrations in the beloved children’s book, “All the World,” and depict owls symbolizing Garner’s children and their dog, Birdie.
The outdoor areas, developed in partnership with landscape designer Christine London, are designed for frequent use. A kitchen garden supplies fresh produce, while recreation spaces like a pool and a firepit facilitate relaxed gatherings. Garner reminisces about her West Virginia childhood, stating that her mother taught her the joy of eating freshly picked fruits and vegetables, enhancing their flavor.
Knowing that Garner actively engages with her home, designers Steve and Brooke believe the space will continue to evolve. Brooke reflects, “I don’t think homes are ever finished. This is just one moment in their life.” Garner expresses satisfaction with how the house is utilized, stating, “I feel like we use the space really well… They’re as comfortable sitting in the living room as they are doing homework in the dining room. And that’s the dream, right?”
Garner was spotted enjoying time with her dogs, Bugsy and Birdie, while wearing a stylish Lafayette 148 sweater and other chic accessories.
This feature on Jennifer Garner’s home is showcased in the October issue of a prominent design magazine, which highlights the insights of the designers involved in the project.
