Seaweed can often dominate the flavors in sushi. However, a new restaurant in Palm Harbor offers an alternative for those who aren’t fond of the taste, allowing diners to enjoy the fishy goodness without the seaweed.
Sushii Paper serves classic sushi rolls using rice paper and soy paper instead of traditional seaweed.
“We want you to enjoy the fish instead of the seaweed,” said Evan Huynh, owner of Sushii Paper.
The use of rice paper adds a unique texture to the dishes.
“The texture of the rice paper is chewy. Seaweed, if eaten quickly, is more crunchy,” Huynh explained.
For those who aren’t fans of sushi, Sushii Paper also offers fresh bowls and Japanese brisket bowls.
Huynh expressed his confidence in creating a new dining option by breaking away from tradition.
“Nobody specializes in rice paper rolls for sushi,” Huynh shared. “We want to be different, let’s see how this goes.”
Sushii Paper is located at 30617 U.S. Highway 19 North in Palm Harbor.
