The Philadelphia 76ers secured a 104-89 victory against the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason match on Monday night. However, the win came with a setback as Paul George left the game due to a left knee hyperextension after scoring eight points.

The 76ers’ offense was led by Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr., who each contributed 14 points, although both had less than efficient performances. Maxey shot 5-of-18 from the field, while Oubre managed 4-of-12, including a disappointing 1-of-8 from three-point range.

Eric Gordon took the starting role in place of Caleb Martin, though his performance was considered less noteworthy than anticipated.

In the opening quarter, the 76ers struggled offensively, making only one basket in the first five minutes and committing four turnovers. A minor delay occurred due to a malfunctioning clock, but following the interruption, the team managed to rally with a 9-2 run. George had a productive quarter, shooting 3-of-4.

The second quarter saw the 76ers combining starters and bench players effectively, leading to a series of assisted field goals. Guerschon Yabusele, who played some time at power forward, showcased a good offensive shift, hitting a three-pointer and scoring a fast-break layup courtesy of Kyle Lowry.

As the first half concluded, the 76ers held a six-point lead, largely due to a positive two-man game involving Maxey and Andre Drummond.

Paul George did not return for the second half, raising concerns about the severity of his injury. The 76ers again began the half sluggishly, shooting poorly. However, Lowry continued to impress with his passing, including creative lobs that facilitated easy baskets.

Jared McCain, who was the first fresh substitution late in the third quarter, attempted a few shots but managed a scoop layup, contributing to the Sixers’ eight-point lead at the end of the third.

In the final quarter, Reggie Jackson and Ricky Council IV made their debuts. The 76ers announced George’s injury, but the game continued, with Yabusele maintaining his strong performance by scoring another three-pointer and finishing with a dunk.
