Injuries Shake Up West Indies T20I Squad Ahead of Pakistan Series

Evin Lewis will not participate in the T20I series against Pakistan as he continues to recover from an injury that kept him out of the final T20I against Australia. His condition is being monitored as the team prepares for the ODI series starting on August 8.

Additionally, both Shimron Hetmyer and Brandon King have been sidelined due to side strains incurred during the last match against Australia. King’s fitness will be evaluated before the ODIs to determine if he can return to play.

To fill the gaps in the squad for the T20I series, the West Indies selectors have called up Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, Shamar Joseph, and Johnson Charles.

The West Indies T20I squad is as follows: Shai Hope (captain), Jewel Andrew, Alick Athanaze, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd.

These changes reflect the team’s adaptive strategies in the face of player injuries, ensuring they maintain a competitive edge as they progress to the ODI leg of the series. The West Indies will be looking to strengthen their lineup with these new inclusions while remaining hopeful for Lewis and King’s speedy recoveries.
