DURHAM, N.C. – Brenay Kennard, a prominent social media influencer with a following of 2.9 million on TikTok and 274,000 on Instagram, has been ordered to pay $1.75 million following a lawsuit linked to an alleged affair with her manager, leading to claims of marital breakdown.
The case, initiated in May 2024, was brought forth by the wife of Kennard’s manager, who accused the influencer of engaging in a romantic relationship with her husband. The lawsuit alleged that Kennard not only seduced him but also publicly flaunted their relationship, which the plaintiff claimed culminated in her husband’s abandonment of their family.
Kennard was subject to charges of alienation of affection and criminal conversation. After a lengthy deliberation of over a year and a half, a jury reached a decision on November 10, 2025, declaring her liable on both counts. The jury subsequently awarded the plaintiff $1.5 million for alienation of affection and $250,000 for criminal conversation, marking a significant ruling in a civil case that did not involve criminal charges against Kennard.
