Scott Dixon, a veteran from New Zealand, aims for victory in what will be his 23rd Indy 500 start, holding one win to his name from 2009. He has accumulated over $11.1 million in Indy 500 prize money throughout his career.
Also of significance is Tony Kanaan, who has celebrated victory in 2013 and currently holds the position of team principal for the Arrow McLaren IndyCar team. His earnings from the Indy 500 are approximately $9.9 million.
Dario Franchitti, a three-time champion with wins from 2007, 2010, and 2012, and Dan Wheldon, who won twice in 2005 and 2011 before tragically passing away in 2011, are also among the top earners historically in the event.
