India’s opponents for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 have been officially determined, following Zimbabwe’s advancement after their match against Ireland ended in a washout. The defending champions have been placed in a competitive group alongside Zimbabwe, the West Indies, and the previous season’s runners-up, South Africa.

India is set to start their Super 8 journey against South Africa on February 22 in Ahmedabad, before traveling to Chennai for their match against Zimbabwe on February 26. Their final Super 8 game will take place in Kolkata on March 1, where they will face the West Indies.

The Indian team reached this stage after a significant victory, defeating arch-rivals Pakistan by 61 runs in Colombo and securing their spot atop Group A with an impressive record of three wins from three matches.

India is scheduled to play their last group-stage match against the Netherlands at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Historically, both teams have faced each other only once in T20 Internationals, with India claiming victory during their encounter in the 2022 T20 World Cup held in Sydney.

Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India is eager to maintain their winning momentum, having previously secured victories over the USA, Namibia, and Pakistan. On the other hand, the Netherlands have struggled, with losses against Pakistan and a significant defeat to the USA, leaving them with a solitary win against Namibia and effectively ending their chances of advancing to the Super 8.

The squads for both teams are as follows:

India Squad: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Rinku Singh.

Netherlands Squad: Scott Edwards (c), Michael Levitt, Max O’Dowd, Bas de Leede, Colin Ackermann, Zach Lion-Cachet, Logan van Beek, Aryan Dutt, Roelof van der Merwe, Kyle Klein, Fred Klaassen, Noah Croes, Saqib Zulfiqar, Paul van Meekeren, Timm van der Gugten.

As India prepares for the challenges ahead, their strong start in the tournament gives fans plenty of hope for continued success in the Super 8 stage.
