The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon 2025 is set for November 8, attracting over 17,000 participants to this prominent running event. This year’s marathon will include various races, providing runners with an opportunity to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon taking place on April 20.
The schedule for the marathon includes an exciting lineup of events. On November 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., runners can attend the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo for packet pickup. The race day, November 8, will kick off with gear bag distribution at 6:30 a.m., followed by the start of the half and full marathon at 8:00 a.m. The 5K race will also start at the same time, with the race course closing at 3:30 p.m.
Runners will embark on the 26.2-mile course from West Street, following a scenic route through downtown Indianapolis before concluding at the Indiana Statehouse. For added convenience, a warm-up area will be provided in Expo Hall B and C of the Indiana Convention Center. Participants and spectators should be aware that the marathon will lead to several road closures in and around the downtown area.
In terms of rewards, the marathon organizers have set substantial prize money for top finishers. Both the men’s and women’s winners of the marathon will take home approximately $1,200, with second-place finishers earning $750. Additionally, the top master’s athlete and the leading Indiana runner will each be awarded $250. In the half-marathon category, winners will receive $800, while top master participants will earn $150.

According to the chief marketing officer of title sponsor CNO Financial Group, the event has shown remarkable growth and contributes an estimated $11.1 million to the central Indiana community.
