A married high school secretary in Indiana has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual relationships with two students, leading to a violent confrontation with her husband. Alicia Hughes, who works for the Randolph Eastern School Corporation in Union City, was discovered by her husband with an 18-year-old student, which resulted in an altercation that prompted law enforcement intervention over the weekend.

According to the Union City Police Department, Hughes was involved in another sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, with reports stating they met on at least five occasions. In response to these allegations, she has been charged with five counts of child seduction concerning her interactions with the minor. It remains unclear if there will be additional charges concerning the encounter with the older student.

The situation escalated when Hughes’ husband confronted her and the student, leading to an incident of battery against Hughes, which is now under investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department. As authorities assess the ongoing investigation, it is also uncertain whether her husband will face any charges related to the physical confrontation.

Neal Adams, the superintendent of the Randolph Eastern School Corporation, confirmed that Hughes has been removed from all duties related to students while the legal matter is being addressed. Adams highlighted that the school is adhering to all necessary protocols to maintain the integrity of the investigation and protect the involved students’ privacy.

Hughes is currently incarcerated at the Randolph County Jail, facing a cash-only bond set at $25,000. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and the Union City Police Department have not released any additional statements regarding the situation.
