Kelsey Mitchell led the Indiana Fever to a 92-75 victory over the Seattle Storm on Sunday, scoring 27 points. Caitlin Clark contributed with 23 points and nine assists, while Lexie Hull had a standout performance, scoring 22 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter.

Clark set a new WNBA rookie record for assists this season, reaching 232 and surpassing Ticha Penicheiro’s 1998 record of 224. The first overall pick in the 2024 draft has consistently scored at least 20 points in five of her last six games, averaging 23.7 points on 47% shooting and 11.7 assists during that stretch.

Mitchell connected on 10 of 19 field goals and made 5 of 8 attempts from three-point range. Hull shot 8-of-10 and hit a career-best six three-pointers out of seven attempts. Additionally, Aliyah Boston contributed significantly with 15 rebounds, nine points, and a career-high eight assists.

In the fourth quarter, Jewell Loyd brought Seattle within one point at 61-60 with a jumper, but Indiana’s Damiris Dantas quickly extended the lead with a free throw. Hull then sank two three-pointers in quick succession, followed by another three from Mitchell, helping Indiana mount a 14-5 run to push the lead to 75-65 with 5:51 left on the clock.

Skylar Diggins-Smith scored consecutive baskets for the Storm, narrowing the deficit to six points, but Hull responded with two more three-pointers, igniting a 15-2 run for Indiana. Clark hit a three-pointer and assisted on two more from Mitchell and Dantas, the latter giving the Fever a commanding 90-71 lead with 2:24 left.

Loyd was the leading scorer for Seattle with 26 points, while Diggins-Smith added 15 and Nneka Ogwumike contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, and four steals. However, the Storm struggled with their shooting, making only 38.9% of their attempts overall.

With this win, Indiana (13-15) has matched their win total from the previous season and is looking strong with four wins in their last five games, rebounding after a slow start to the season. They have now won back-to-back games following a month-long break for the Paris Olympics.
