In a previous play, Jackson had connected with Miles Cross for a 2-yard touchdown pass, after taking over quarterback duties when Rourke sustained his injury.

The Hoosiers’ defense helped maintain control of the game with a key interception, as Shawn Asbury II picked off Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola at a crucial moment and returned it 78 yards.

In the first half, Justice Ellison scored a touchdown from 31 yards out, and Ty Son Lawton added a 1-yard rushing touchdown during a lengthy drive that showcased Indiana’s offensive capabilities. Nebraska managed to score once in the second quarter with a 7-yard run from Jacory Barney Jr., but Indiana quickly responded to maintain their lead.

The game was broadcast on FOX and was part of the eighth week of the 2024 college football season. Indiana’s rich football history against Nebraska saw the Hoosiers aiming to stretch their series lead, with the record standing at 10-9-3 in favor of Indiana.
