Television enthusiasts are in for a treat as some of the most iconic costumes from America’s beloved TV shows are set to go under the hammer. On October 24, Heritage Auctions will present the Television Treasures Collection of the late Dr. Stewart Berkowitz, featuring a remarkable compilation of television memorabilia that spans several decades.

Among the coveted items up for auction are Fonzie’s leather jacket from “Happy Days,” Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock’s uniforms from the original “Star Trek” series, and Gilligan’s recognizable red shirt and bucket hat from “Gilligan’s Island.” These distinctive wardrobe pieces form just a fraction of over 300 lots that showcase the golden age of television, including items from “The Honeymooners,” “The Munsters,” “Get Smart,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” “Batman,” and “Wonder Woman.”

Dr. Berkowitz’s collection, which was amassed over decades before the era of online auctions, pays homage to the broadcast comedy, sci-fi, and superhero genres of the 1950s through the 1970s. His son, Jordan Meddy, recalls that his father was a pioneer collector, starting with eBay and eventually focusing on creating a detailed and authentic archive of TV history from those formative decades.

Heritage Auctions’ Executive Vice President Joe Maddalena describes this collection as one of the most comprehensive and passionately curated assemblages of vintage television memorabilia ever introduced to the auction market. Maddalena highlights the deep knowledge, love, and nostalgic humor that Dr. Berkowitz infused into his collection, noting the cultural significance of these items as they become available for public acquisition for the first time.

The auction is scheduled for October 24, 2025, at Heritage Auctions, where enthusiasts and collectors alike will have the opportunity to own a tangible piece of television history. Select items from the collection will be on display for public viewing in Heritage’s New York gallery from September 23 to October 1, 2025, and in Beverly Hills from October 6-10, 2025. Bidding is currently underway at HA.com.
