Jalen Hurts is amplifying his efforts to support local schools in Philadelphia amid the summer heat. Before the kickoff in São Paulo, the Jalen Hurts Foundation revealed a new initiative that will run through the 2024 NFL season. For every touchdown the Eagles quarterback scores this year, the foundation will donate $5,000 to enhance air conditioning systems in ten additional schools in Philadelphia.

Continuing the Keep It Cool Initiative, the foundation has launched the TDs for ACs campaign for the 2024-25 season. With nearly 100 schools and about 50,000 students still lacking adequate cooling, the initiative emphasizes the importance of community support. Fans are encouraged to participate by making one-time or monthly tax-deductible donations to assist in improving the learning environment for students facing extreme heat.

The star quarterback, who signed a five-year contract extension worth $255 million last spring, is using his resources to make a positive impact on the community. Earlier this year, he contributed $200,000 for air conditioning improvement in ten Philadelphia schools.

The foundation is now focused on addressing the needs of the remaining schools that still do not have air conditioning. Hurts had previously facilitated $200,000 worth of air conditioning units for schools including Clara Barton, Gloria Casarez, Castor Gardens, D. Newlin Fell, Thomas Finletter, Fliter Academic Plus, Benjamin Franklin/Science Leadership Academy, Edward Gideon, Abram Jens, and T. Roosevelt, which were identified by the district as needing new cooling systems.
