Hurts Interception Stalls Eagles as Giants Surge Behind Dart and Skattebo

The Philadelphia Eagles faced a setback in their comeback effort when Jalen Hurts threw his first interception in 305 passes. This crucial moment came while the Eagles were poised to close the gap on the New York Giants. Giants cornerback Cor’Dale Flott intercepted Hurts’ pass intended for Jahan Dotson at the Giants’ 9-yard line, returning it 68 yards before being forced out of bounds by Saquon Barkley at the Philadelphia 23.

Following this pivotal turnover, the Giants took full advantage. Rookie running back Cam Skattebo added to the scoring with his third rushing touchdown of the night on a 1-yard plunge, extending the Giants’ lead to 34-17 with 9:41 remaining in the game. Skattebo’s impressive performance included touchdowns from both 4 and 1 yard out, accumulating 54 yards on 14 carries.

In addition, Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart contributed significantly to the game, completing 16 of 24 passes for 187 yards and adding a touchdown. Dart also showcased his mobility with nine carries for 58 yards, further solidifying the Giants’ dominant performance on the field.

The Giants were without their starting center, John Michael Schmitz, who was ruled out due to a concussion and a nose injury. Austin Schlottmann stepped in to replace Schmitz, demonstrating depth in the Giants’ roster amid injury challenges.

Overall, the Giants’ strong offensive showing, highlighted by the combination of Skattebo’s running and Dart’s passing, put them in a commanding position as they continue to build momentum in their season.
