Rumors have emerged that actress Hunter Schafer, known for her role in HBO’s Euphoria, is being considered for the role of Princess Zelda in the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, fans have voiced their support for Schafer due to her striking resemblance to the iconic video game character.

Schafer has garnered acclaim for her portrayal of Jules Vaughn in Euphoria and is set to return for the show’s final season. Additionally, she has appeared in The Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and the horror film Cuckoo. In a 2023 interview, when asked about the possibility of playing Zelda, Schafer expressed her excitement, reminiscing about her childhood experiences with the game.

While casting details for the film have yet to be announced, which is slated for release on March 26, 2027, Schafer is not the only one interested in the pivotal role. Patricia Summersett, who provided the voice of Princess Zelda in the video game series, has also expressed her desire to take on the role.

As for the male lead, the character of Link remains uncast. Walker Scobell, known for his role in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, has been mentioned as a potential candidate. However, when asked about the role, Scobell indicated he was uncertain but open to consideration, highlighting his familiarity with the series, particularly Breath of the Wild, even though he hasn’t played the newest installment.

The film, directed by Wes Ball, who has experience with projects like Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, promises to bring a beloved franchise to life on the big screen, supported by producer Shigeru Miyamoto and others.
