A hacker has exposed nearly 10 billion passwords in what is being called possibly the largest leak of its kind ever.
The user, known as “ObamaCare,” posted the passwords in a file named “RockYou2024” to an online hacking forum on July 4, according to Cybernews. This incident is raising concerns that other hackers could use the leaked data for cyber attacks. The massive dataset includes 1.5 billion new plain text passwords obtained from various data leaks, adding to a previous compilation posted on the same forum in 2021 called “RockYou2021.”
