Houston is gearing up for a bustling weekend as fans flock to the city for Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour. With two back-to-back concerts lined up, airports in Houston, including George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), are preparing for an influx of travelers.
Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for Houston Airports, expressed confidence in the readiness of airport services, noting that previous events featuring Beyoncé had resulted in significant increases in passenger volumes. In fact, after past concerts, TSA checkpoint throughput saw a remarkable spike of 11% on the Monday following the show, coupled with a 7% increase the Tuesday after. “Houston shows up when Beyoncé comes home,” Szczesniak remarked.
In anticipation of the expected surge, Houston Airports are also introducing a charming “Cowboy Corner” pop-up experience. This engaging space will feature vibrant digital signage, Instagrammable backdrops, and exciting activities for fans to enjoy. The special pop-up will be available from June 26 to June 30, operating daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This event not only highlights the love for Beyoncé in her home city but also provides a boost to local businesses. It’s an exciting time for fans and a celebration of music culture in Houston.
