Hot Bread Kitchen is celebrating community engagement with the recent opening of its new outlet at the Damodar Arts Village in Pacific Harbour. The bakery has launched an exciting initiative that invites customers to partake in naming a new signature bread, fostering a sense of connection with the local community.
Vannessa Charters, the Managing Director, emphasized that this approach reflects the company’s tradition of developing location-specific products whenever entering new markets. Past openings have given rise to unique offerings such as the “Labasa Loaf” and the highly favored Sigatoka bun, known as “Saqamoli” or Lolo Buns.
As the new store serves the Serua community, Charters is keen to encourage customer involvement by allowing them to suggest names for the upcoming signature product. To participate in the contest, customers can simply visit the Pacific Harbour outlet, make a purchase, and fill out an entry form with their creative name ideas. They are welcome to submit multiple entries, promoting both community creativity and engagement.
Charters remarked that this initiative honors local culture and aims to produce a bread that encapsulates the spirit of Pacific Harbour and the Serua identity. Joining in this mission, Div Damodar, CEO of the Damodar Group of Companies, expressed that the new outlet is part of a broader strategy to boost commercial activity in the area, which is designed to attract more businesses to the Arts Village.
The naming competition will unfold alongside the launch of the new outlet, with the winning entry set to become the signature bread for Hot Bread Kitchen’s expanding chain. This collaborative effort not only cultivates a sense of community but also strengthens the relationship between the bakery and its patrons, ensuring that the new product reflects the richness of local traditions and flavors. This initiative is a heartening example of how businesses can connect and honor the communities they serve.
