The TCU Horned Frogs (3-2; 1-1) are set to face off against the Houston Cougars (1-4; 0-2) in another Big 12 showdown under the lights at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Following a challenging first season in the Big 12, Houston has replaced head coach Dana Holgorsen with Willie Fritz, formerly of Tulane. Fritz’s tenure has started on a difficult note, highlighted by two consecutive shutout defeats in conference play. However, the Cougars managed to secure a victory against Rice, reclaiming the Bayou Bucket, and they put up a strong fight against Oklahoma in Norman. Houston’s defense has been impressive, ranking among the top units in the country for fewest yards allowed per game. On the offensive side, the team has faced challenges with turnovers, as quarterback Donovan Smith has thrown five interceptions this season, along with only two touchdown passes.

TCU has also encountered issues with turnovers, contributing to multiple fumbles and four interceptions thrown by Josh Hoover. Despite these setbacks, Hoover has excelled overall, currently ranking third in the nation for total passing yards and tossing 14 touchdown passes. His primary receiver, Jack Bech, has recently been named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, boasting 35 receptions for 647 yards and six touchdowns, positioning himself for a record-setting season at TCU. With additional offensive threats like Eric McAlister, JP Richardson, and Savion Williams, TCU’s passing attack is considered among the most dangerous in college football.

As the teams prepare to battle in Fort Worth, the big question remains: which team will emerge victorious? Fans are encouraged to share their thoughts in the comments section as they engage with the excitement of game day. Go Frogs!
