The TCU Horned Frogs (3-2; 1-1) are set to face the Houston Cougars (1-4; 0-2) in a Big 12 matchup under the lights at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Following a challenging first season in the Big 12, Houston has made a coaching change, parting ways with Dana Holgorsen and hiring former Tulane coach Willie Fritz. Fritz’s tenure has gotten off to a rocky start, highlighted by two consecutive shutout losses in conference play. The Cougars, however, managed to secure a victory against Rice to reclaim the Bayou Bucket and put up a solid fight against Oklahoma in Norman. Houston’s defense has shown promise, ranking among the nation’s best in yards allowed per game, but the offense has struggled significantly due to turnovers. Quarterback Donovan Smith has already thrown five interceptions this season while managing only two touchdown passes.

The Horned Frogs have had their own issues with turnovers, marked by an accumulation of fumbles and four interceptions from Josh Hoover. Despite these setbacks, Hoover has had an impressive season overall, ranking third nationally in total passing yards and throwing 14 touchdown passes. His primary receiver, Jack Bech, has recently been added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, recording 35 receptions for 647 yards and six touchdowns, positioning him for a historic season at TCU. With additional talented receivers like Eric McAlister, JP Richardson, and Savion Williams, TCU’s passing attack is considered one of the most potent in the country.

As the teams prepare to clash in Fort Worth, it remains to be seen which side will emerge victorious. Fans are invited to share their thoughts in the comment section as the game unfolds. Go Frogs!
