The show follows podcasters Charles Hayden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora, who frequently encounter murders in their apartment complex. The previous season concluded with a cliffhanger involving the potential death of Charles’s long-time stunt double, Sazz, played by Jane Lynch.
The fourth season begins immediately after the events of the third season, with the main characters heading to Los Angeles amid the hype surrounding their podcast. The shift from New York City to Hollywood provides a fresh perspective, allowing the series to satire the film industry, with cameos from Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, and Eva Longoria playing themselves, as well as Meryl Streep returning as Oliver’s love interest, Loretta.
