Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong have made history on “Dancing with the Stars” by achieving the first perfect score of the season during its landmark 500th episode. This milestone event, which has captivated audiences since its debut in 2005, showcased the heightened excitement brought by the current season.
On this special night, the six remaining couples participated in two rounds of competition. Kinney and Armstrong truly shone during their performance of an Argentine tango, impressing judges and earning the coveted perfect score. In an innovative twist during the second round, called the “instant dance,” they successfully pulled off a second perfect score. In this round, performers had just five minutes to prepare after blindly selecting a dance style and song.
Despite their outstanding performances, basketball star Dwight Howard and his partner Daniella Karagach were eliminated, though Howard expressed gratitude for the experience, remarking, “I had an amazing experience.” Karagach added that overcoming challenges throughout their journey felt like a victory in itself.
Now, five couples progress to the semifinals next week in pursuit of the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy: Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong, and Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold.
“Dancing with the Stars” continues to air on Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+, offering viewers the charm and competition they have come to love.
This milestone not only highlights the talent and dedication of the contestants but also reflects the enduring popularity of the show, bringing excitement to both participants and fans alike.
