Historic All-Female Broadcast Takes Over Fenway Park!

NESN has announced a historic milestone for Women’s Celebration Night at Fenway Park, scheduled for Tuesday. The event will feature an all-female broadcast team, marking the first time in Red Sox history that an all-female booth will handle the complete game coverage.

The play-by-play duties will be led by Portland Sea Dogs announcer Emma Tiedemann, while NESN’s Emmy Award-winning reporter Alanna Rizzo will serve as the color analyst. Additionally, Kasey Hudson from NESN will fulfill sideline reporting responsibilities. The broadcast will also showcase an all-female studio team consisting of Natalie Noury as the anchor and Jen McCaffrey providing analysis. Veteran producer Amy Kaplan will manage the game production, with Anna Gregoire overseeing the studio production.

The first pitch for the game against the Kansas City Royals is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and will be accessible via NESN and NESN 360. Prior to the broadcast, Tiedemann and Rizzo will participate in a conference call on Monday to discuss the groundbreaking event.

This initiative is part of the Women of NESN program, which aims to enhance opportunities for women in sports media. Last year’s Women’s Celebration game also featured an all-female broadcast team, indicating a positive trend towards greater inclusivity in sports coverage.

NESN, recognized for its award-winning content, continues to strive towards connecting with its community and supporting female talent within the industry, contributing to larger conversations about women’s roles in sports.

As women in sports media gain visibility through events like this, it sparks hope for future generations and serves as an inspiration for aspiring female broadcasters.
