Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa raises funds for Fiji Cancer Society through Pinktober

Hilton Fiji Pinktober Campaign Supports Fiji Cancer Society

Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa has reaffirmed its commitment to community health and well-being by raising FJ$14,331 through a series of Pinktober initiatives aimed at supporting the Fiji Cancer Society. This month-long program saw active participation from both resort team members and guests, who engaged in various fundraising activities designed to foster wellness, creativity, and community spirit while raising awareness about cancer.

Carey Osborne, the Cluster General Manager for Hilton Fiji, highlighted that the enthusiasm and generosity displayed during the events encapsulate Hilton’s culture of extended hospitality. “These initiatives reflect the heart of our Hilton culture, where hospitality goes beyond serving our guests to embracing the wider community,” he noted, expressing pride in the team’s dedication and the support received from guests for this crucial cause.

The Pinktober events featured several engaging activities:

– Team members organized a Morning Tea & Bake Sale, with homemade treats that contributed significantly to the fundraising efforts.
– The resort hosted the Pink Sunset Event on October 24, which welcomed 56 attendees. This event raised funds through entry fees and auctions of items generously donated by Tappoo.
– Custom Pinktober shirts were sold throughout the month, supported by contributions from a generous donor.
– A lively Walk-a-thon held on November 1 brought together guests and staff, generating additional funds through participation fees and donations.

These initiatives align seamlessly with Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” global strategy, which emphasizes responsible tourism and aims to create positive social, environmental, and community impacts. The Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa is dedicated to supporting health and wellness initiatives and strives to be a true “Iconic Host” that prioritizes exceptional guest experiences while uplifting local communities across Fiji.

Similar community-driven efforts have emerged in the region, with various hotels in Suva raising approximately $10,000 during their Pinktober campaigns, further underscoring the powerful impact of collective commitment to health initiatives. This collaborative spirit demonstrates how the hospitality industry can effectively intertwine with philanthropy, nurturing hope and resilience in response to health challenges faced by communities.
