A sneak peek has been released for the highly anticipated second season of “Hijack,” starring and executive produced by Idris Elba. The new season continues two years after the intense hijacking of Flight KA29, shifting the focus to a Berlin underground train where commuters become hostages, prompting authorities to engage in a race against time to save countless lives.
Entitled “Signal,” the premiere episode finds Sam Nelson, played by Elba, facing yet another perilous situation, this time with personal stakes. The eight-episode season is set to debut globally on Apple TV on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with subsequent episodes released weekly every Wednesday until March 4.
Returning cast members include Elba, who earned an Emmy Award nomination for his performance in the first season, along with Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi. New faces joining the ensemble this season feature Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Asey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul.
The upcoming season is produced by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions, with executive producers including Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash, alongside creators George Kay and Jim Field Smith. Field Smith also takes the helm as the series’ lead director. Viewers can currently stream the complete first season on Apple TV, generating excitement for what’s to come in the new episodes.
