HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio
Recent disturbances in Highland Heights have led local authorities to increase their presence as they address multiple incidents over the past week.
On November 21, a significant disturbance occurred at Denny’s around 4:15 a.m. when a man and woman, allegedly upset about their Uber Eats order, resorted to throwing food at the restaurant’s employees. The pair, who left before police arrived, reportedly threw items both inside and outside the establishment, including a steak. Detectives are currently working to identify the individuals involved to pursue potential charges.
Another incident took place on November 18 outside Burgers 2 Beer when a male pedestrian reported that a motorist nearly ran him and his wife over. Tensions escalated when a man, claiming to be the owner of the nearby Verizon store, confronted the pedestrian. Officers were unable to locate the individuals involved, and the pedestrian opted not to pursue the matter further.
In an unrelated case, a 20-year-old woman visited the police station on November 21 to report harassment from a man she had recently met. She expressed concerns over his persistent messages and unwelcome visits to her family’s home. Although she only knew him by his Snapchat username, authorities are investigating the situation.
A disturbance at Mulligan’s Pub on November 18 led to police intervention when staff reported a man who refused to leave after rolling a marijuana cigarette at his table. Officers found the man outside and provided him with a courtesy ride home after ensuring his well-being.
Furthermore, an employee at Aberdeen Crossings reported on November 24 that she was being harassed by a woman who threatened to come to her workplace. However, officers determined that no actual threats had been made after speaking with the employee.
Lastly, management at Sky Zone contacted authorities on November 22 regarding a group of juveniles who were threatening to engage in a fight. Police responded and escorted two of the juveniles from the premises at the request of management.
As these incidents unfold, local law enforcement continues to encourage community members to report any disturbances or threats to ensure a safe environment for all residents.
