High Point Unveils 2025-26 Track Schedule Targeting Big South and NCAA Meets

The High Point University men’s and women’s track and field teams have unveiled their schedules for the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor seasons, highlighting a total of 28 competitions. The Panthers will kick off their season in December, featuring 13 indoor meets leading up to the prestigious Big South Conference Indoor Championships and the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Head Coach emphasized the team’s strength, stating, “We have the ability to compete with the best in the country without leaving North Carolina, Virginia, or South Carolina,” while also noting that national-caliber athletes will be strategically taken to meets as needed. A highlight of the season will be the Scored Team Challenge, sponsored by Norris Woody, which emphasizes the team concept in track and field. Furthermore, the 17th annual VertKlasse Meeting promises to be a major event, introducing an exciting new feature with the Alumni Mile.

The indoor season will debut at the Liberty Kick-Off on December 4 in Lynchburg, Virginia, and the team will also participate in the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston three days later. Following a mid-week meet at Tryon International Collegiate in North Carolina on December 10, the Panthers will take a short break before returning to competition in January with back-to-back weekends at the Virginia Tech Invitational and Hokie Invite.

As the indoor season progresses, High Point will continue to engage in a rigorous schedule including key meets such as the Doc Hale Invitational and the Darius Dixon Invitational, culminating in the Big South Indoor Championships on February 27-28. Top athletes will have the opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships set for March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Transitioning to the outdoor season, the Panthers will start at the Phoenix Invitational on March 13 and are set to host their first outdoor meet at Vert Stadium on March 20-21. The competitive schedule includes notable events such as the annual Vertklasse Meeting and will see the team travel to various prestigious meets, including the Duke Invitational and the Charlotte Invitational.

The 2025 Big South Outdoor Championships will take place at home from May 11-13, with additional less-chance meets leading up to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, scheduled for June 11-14. As the athletes prepare for the season, they will also be aiming to qualify for the USA Track & Field U20 Championships and the USA Track & Field Championships in June and July.

With a robust schedule ahead and commitment to excellence, High Point University’s track and field teams are positioning themselves for a successful 2025-26 season, promising an exciting year for both athletes and fans alike.
