Two firefighters from the Rocky River Fire Department were hospitalized while responding to a fire at the Rocky River Brewing Company. The fire broke out around 11:15 a.m. at the restaurant located on Center Ridge Rd.
In a heartfelt message, the Brew Co. Family expressed gratitude for the community’s support and emphasized their relief that everyone is safe. “Our hearts are heavy today, but more than anything, we are grateful. Grateful that everyone is safe,” the message read, highlighting the bravery of the responding firefighters.
Fire Chief Aaron Lenart reported that emergency crews arrived on site within five minutes, successfully bringing the blaze under control shortly after noon. Although the specifics surrounding the injuries of the firefighters remain unclear, it was noted that the temperature was 93 degrees upon their arrival, with firefighters carrying 60-80 pounds of gear, which could have contributed to their condition.
Additional fire departments also assisted in managing the response, showcasing the collaboration and dedication of local emergency services. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and updates on the firefighters’ conditions are awaited.
