A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot while trying to stop a car break-in in south Seattle early Wednesday morning. According to the Seattle police, officers responded to a report of the incident at about 1 a.m. on 1st Ave S near South Walker Street in the SODO neighborhood.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his face and head. He received immediate first aid from Seattle Fire Department medics before being transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he is currently in serious condition.
