In a powerful recognition of service and sacrifice, former Olympic athlete David Walters and firefighter-paramedic Erin Regan will be honored with the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the upcoming 2025 ESPYs, taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. This prestigious award is named after the late Arizona Cardinals safety, Pat Tillman, who left a promising NFL career to enlist in the Army following the September 11 attacks. Walters, a firefighter with the Los Angeles Fire Department and a gold medalist in swimming, along with Regan, a firefighter-paramedic with Los Angeles County Fire, have both recently battled on the front lines of Southern California’s fierce January wildfires. Expressing humility, Walters emphasized that the award represents countless firefighters who dedicate their lives to protecting communities.
