Help Save Tikki: Your Chance to Make a Difference This Giving Tuesday!

On this Giving Tuesday, a baby pangolin in Nigeria is looking for your compassion to help her survive. Pangolins are critically endangered, heavily impacted by poaching activities. Fortunately, thanks to tireless conservation efforts, this young pangolin, Tikki, has been rescued from a precarious situation.

At just eight months old, Tikki was found in a bushmeat market, in poor health and suffering from severe infestation from hundreds of ticks. These parasites clung to her body, threatening her life. Our partner organization, the Greenfingers Wildlife Conservation Initiative (GWCI), meticulously removed each tick and has provided her with the care she desperately needs.

During her recovery, Tikki requires close monitoring and specialized milk formula for several months. For a monthly donation of $100 (£77), you can play a vital role in ensuring Tikki receives the nourishment she needs to thrive. Given that the average minimum wage in Nigeria is less than $42 (£32.50) per month, this level of support can significantly impact her survival.

Tikki isn’t alone in her fight; GWCI regularly rescues pangolins from harrowing conditions, and all rescued animals require intensive care to survive. Each pangolin saved is a step towards the preservation of the species, which faces grave danger primarily at the hands of humans.

Pangolins possess thick keratin scales, making them resilient to natural predators, but they are vulnerable to human exploitation. Without ongoing conservation efforts and community support, the fate of pangolins remains uncertain.

This Giving Tuesday, your support can make a monumental difference—not just for Tikki but for the future of the pangolin population in Africa. Consider donating today and sharing this message with your network. Together, we can make an impact and aid in the fight against wildlife extinction.

Your generosity could be the reason a creature like Tikki survives and thrives, contributing to the overall health of our planet’s biodiversity.

Let’s unite our efforts to protect wildlife and ensure a better future for all species.
