Heat face Hornets as Powell injury update looms before grueling four-game road trip

After a promising 2-1 start to the 2025-26 NBA season, the Miami Heat are set to face the Charlotte Hornets in what will be their final home game before embarking on a challenging four-game road trip. This upcoming stretch will see the Heat travel to play against the San Antonio Spurs on October 30, followed by matchups with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers on November 2 and 3, and concluding with a game against the Denver Nuggets on November 7.

As the Heat prepare for their Tuesday night showdown, they are dealing with some notable injury concerns. Guard Norman Powell, the team’s significant offseason acquisition, has been listed as questionable due to right groin soreness. In his first three games with Miami, Powell has made a strong impact, averaging an impressive 24.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 47.7% overall and an impressive 50% from beyond the arc.

Also on the injury report is Simone Fontecchio, who was initially questionable for the contest but has since been upgraded to probable. The 29-year-old has also been effective since joining the team from the Detroit Pistons, averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, with an outstanding shooting percentage of 61.5% from the field and 50% from three-point range.

In addition to Powell and Fontecchio, three other players—Tyler Herro, Kasparas Jakucionis, and Terry Rozier—have been ruled out for the matchup against the Hornets.

With the Heat navigating their injury challenges, fans remain optimistic about the team’s potential to secure a win at home before heading into a demanding stretch of games. Miami will look to build momentum and strengthen their season record as they approach the road ahead.
