Heat Advisory Lingers as Storms Loom Over Wisconsin

Hot and humid conditions are expected to continue this evening across southern Wisconsin. With a Heat Advisory in place through tonight, areas including Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha are experiencing particularly high humidity levels and heat, while northern counties have been released from the advisory as drier air has settled in following earlier storms.

Tonight, a weakening complex of thunderstorms is anticipated to approach from the northwest. However, given the atmospheric disruptions from earlier storms, these storms may have difficulty maintaining their strength as they move eastward. There is potential for gusty winds in regions west and southwest of Madison, although the main severe weather energy is likely to remain concentrated to the west of the Mississippi River.

As we look ahead to Tuesday, scattered thunderstorms may develop, particularly near lake breezes and residual boundaries from the overnight weather. A cold front is set to sweep through Tuesday night into Wednesday, which is likely to generate more organized showers and storms. Following this front, the weather is expected to transition into cooler and more comfortable conditions with temperatures dropping into the 70s and dew points decreasing into the 50s, heralding a welcome shift that could last throughout the weekend.

This change brings hope for relief from the heat, allowing residents to enjoy more pleasant weather in the coming days.
