Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital joyfully welcomed its first baby of the year on Saturday, January 4, with the arrival of Waylon Kenneth Mann at 11:29 p.m. Parents Ali and Nate Mann from Lincoln City celebrated the birth of their first child, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 14.3 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Waylon’s name was inspired by the legendary country singer, Waylon Jennings, reflecting Nate’s deep appreciation for his music and the couple’s fondness for the name’s cowboy essence. The choice of the middle name, Kenneth, honors Nate’s father, whom Ali described as a beloved person in their lives.

The Mann family is new to Lincoln City, having relocated from Northern California just about a year ago. Their journey led them through various locations before settling in the charming coastal town. As they watch their son, swaddled and peacefully asleep, they can’t help but notice his resemblance to his proud father.

In celebration of their new addition, the family received a delightful gift basket filled with baby essentials and toys from the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary, a thoughtful gesture that reflects the community spirit of support for new families.

This heartwarming story not only highlights the excitement of welcoming a newborn but also showcases the sense of community that surrounds families starting their journey together. With the support of local organizations, new parents can feel embraced and celebrated, reinforcing that they are never alone in this beautiful experience of parenthood.
