John Stamos has publicly extended his heartfelt support to his former Full House co-star, Dave Coulier, after Coulier disclosed his diagnosis of Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Stamos took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message, posting a collection of memories featuring the duo from their time on the iconic sitcom. He expressed his solidarity with the words, “My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all.”
Coulier revealed the news during a recent appearance on the Today show, where he shared that he had been feeling unwell for about a month before discovering a swollen lymph node in his groin. Subsequent tests initially indicated everything was normal, leading to confusion for Coulier. “Blood tests came back great. My EKG, everything great. Heart, everything perfect,” he explained.
However, as the swelling persisted, doctors opted to remove and biopsy the lump, ultimately leading to his diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma. Coulier spoke candidly about receiving the news, likening the experience to “getting punched in the stomach” and emphasizing that such diagnoses seem to happen to others, not oneself.
Coulier is already undergoing chemotherapy, anticipating that his treatment will conclude by February 2025. He described the journey so far as “a bit of a roller coaster,” but remains hopeful.
Stamos and Coulier shared the screen for nearly a decade on Full House, portraying Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone, characters closely bonded as half-brother and childhood best friend to Danny Tanner, played by the late Bob Saget. The bond among the cast has only strengthened over the years, particularly after Saget’s unexpected passing in 2022.
Following this tragedy, Stamos was motivated to write a memoir titled If You Would Have Told Me, published last year, reflecting on his life, career, and experiences with sobriety and fatherhood. He expressed that the memoir was inspired by personal events, stating, “If not now, when?”
This show of support from Stamos illustrates the deep camaraderie that has developed among the Full House cast members, reinforcing the theme of family that the show epitomizes. As Coulier navigates this challenging time, fans and friends rally behind him, reminding everyone that the power of love and support can be a source of strength in difficult moments.
