Families, health professionals, and community members recently came together at Nausori Primary School Grounds for the Rewa Medical Sub-Division’s Family Fun Day, proudly themed “Invest in Your Health for Your Wealth.” The event, held last week Saturday, provided a platform to reaffirm the importance of health as a valuable asset. Chief Guest Mr. Marawa, who officially opened the gathering, emphasized that real wealth lies in the strength and well-being of families and communities rather than in material possession. He highlighted that “families are the first hospitals, parents the first teachers, and homes the first schools of health.”
The day was filled with wellness games, engaging health booths, and fellowship activities designed to promote a collective sense of responsibility in fostering healthier communities. The event also featured biblical reflections, such as 3 John 1:2, encouraging a focus on holistic well-being—encompassing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life.
The event recognized the invaluable contributions of doctors, nurses, and health workers. Mr. Marawa urged communities to further support these professionals by prioritizing family unity and healthy living. The Rewa Medical Sub-Division expressed gratitude to the SDMO, SDNM, medical teams, community partners, and families for their integral roles in ensuring the success of the day.
The Family Fun Day at Nausori Primary School aligns with ongoing initiatives across Fiji aimed at enhancing healthcare access and promoting healthier living, especially in rural areas. This gathering serves as a positive reminder of the impact of community-driven health events that not only provide immediate educational benefits but also encourage lasting lifestyle changes. As efforts continue to support community health and well-being, such initiatives inspire hope for a more united and healthier future for all.
