HONOLULU – As the New Year approaches, residents and visitors across Hawaii are eagerly anticipating vibrant fireworks displays to welcome 2026. Celebrations will take place at several key locations throughout the islands, promising an exciting start to the year.

In Oahu, the iconic Waikiki Beach will host its annual New Year’s Eve fireworks show at the stroke of midnight, providing a scenic backdrop for festivities. The evening will kick off with Sky Waikiki’s countdown party starting at 8 p.m., offering a lively atmosphere for revelers. Additionally, the Wai Kai will celebrate with a party running from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m., ensuring that partygoers have plenty of time to enjoy the festivities. Ko Olina Resort will also feature a special fireworks show at midnight, attracting families and visitors.

In Waikiki, many have already begun gathering, particularly near the Hilton Hawaiian Village, to secure prime viewing spots for the dazzling display. Antonio Mattone shared, “I’m just gonna stay with my family and watch the fireworks over here in Waikiki,” highlighting the anticipation shared by many locals and tourists alike.

On Maui, the Hilton Waikoloa Village will host its fireworks show, beginning at 9 p.m., promising to light up the night sky. Meanwhile, Hawaii Island will also take part in the celebrations with its own fireworks events.

In contrast, Kauai officials have opted not to hold any fireworks displays this year. Instead, Kauai police continue to encourage residents to enjoy the permitted displays and to leave the fireworks to trained professionals to ensure safety during the holiday.

With these festive celebrations planned across the islands, Hawaii is set to welcome the New Year with joy and excitement, creating cherished memories for families and friends gathering to mark the occasion.
