Australia’s rugby league team is set to see Harry Grant step into the role of captain for the second Test against England this Saturday at Liverpool’s Hill Dickinson Stadium. This will be Grant’s first appearance as captain, filling the void left by Isaah Yeo, who is currently undergoing concussion protocols.
Head Coach Kevin Walters expressed his trust in both Grant and Yeo, highlighting the leadership qualities of both players. “Harry and all of the senior players stepped up after Isaah’s unfortunate injury last week,” he remarked, emphasizing Yeo’s continued influence despite his absence. “While we would love to have Isaah out there, he’ll still contribute in many other ways around the group this week. He’s a natural leader, and so too is Harry, so we’re in great hands this week.”
Alongside Yeo’s absence, the team will bring in Lindsay Smith, who also plays for Penrith, marking his second Test appearance following a strong debut during last year’s Pacific Championships final.
