The Kamala Harris campaign is reportedly in discussions with Joe Rogan’s team regarding a potential appearance by the Vice President on his popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
This week, Harris’s team met with Rogan’s crew to explore the opportunity, as she aims to broaden her appeal to male voters. The Joe Rogan Experience garners a significant male audience, with 81 percent of listeners identifying as male and over half under the age of 35, according to a YouGov poll. Recently, Harris appeared on Alex Cooper’s podcast, Call Her Daddy, which is aimed at younger female listeners.
Harris has faced scrutiny for primarily engaging with media outlets seen as favorable to her. However, as the election approaches and the polling becomes more competitive, she has ventured into more challenging interviews, including appearances on 60 Minutes and an upcoming session on Fox News.
In August, Rogan hosted Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a third-party candidate who has since exited the race. In the 2020 election cycle, he interviewed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary.
Harris’s potential appearance on Rogan’s podcast would be noteworthy, considering Rogan’s fluctuating endorsement of right-wing perspectives and conspiracy theories, such as questioning the authenticity of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Furthermore, Rogan is known for not shying away from controversial topics, while Harris’s team has been cautious in maintaining her comfort during media engagements. Therefore, it remains to be seen if the two sides can reach an agreement.
Neither Harris nor Rogan’s representatives have confirmed or denied the talks.
