The Kamala Harris campaign is reportedly in discussions with Joe Rogan’s team about the possibility of the Vice President appearing on his popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” According to reports, Harris’ team met with Rogan’s crew recently to explore this opportunity.
Harris aims to increase her appeal among male voters, and Rogan’s podcast attracts a predominantly male audience, with 81 percent of listeners being male and over 50 percent under the age of 35, as indicated by a YouGov poll. Just last week, Harris appeared on Alex Cooper’s podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” which is popular among young female listeners.
Recently, Harris has faced criticism for only engaging with media outlets viewed as favorable to her. As the election approaches and polls become closer, she has started to appear on more challenging platforms, including interviews with “60 Minutes” and a segment on Fox News scheduled to air soon.
In August, Rogan had third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a guest on his show, though Kennedy has since exited the race. In 2020, Rogan interviewed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary campaign.
However, Harris’ potential appearance on Rogan’s podcast could be unexpected, given Rogan’s sometimes controversial perspectives and willingness to discuss fringe theories, such as questioning the authenticity of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Additionally, Rogan tends to avoid imposing limits on topics, while Harris’ team has worked to keep her within familiar territory in interviews, raising questions about the outcome of their negotiations.
As of now, neither Harris nor Rogan’s representatives have confirmed or denied these discussions.
