As the excitement for the Super Bowl builds, Guinness has taken commendable steps to assist local communities through its latest charitable initiative. On February 5, renowned brewing company Guinness collaborated with NFL legend Joe Montana to host a volunteer event in San Francisco aimed at supporting families in need.
The event, which is part of the larger “Guinness Gives Back” campaign, saw Montana and representatives from Guinness package meals for the SF-Marin Food Bank. This initiative emphasizes the importance of hands-on community involvement rather than just financial donations.
Karissa Downer, Director of Guinness in the U.S., highlighted the initiative’s philosophy, stating that it extends beyond writing checks—it’s about fostering genuine connections with the communities that have supported them throughout the years.
In an exciting addition, Guinness also launched a new product during the event called Legends Lager. This limited-edition pale wheat lager, developed in collaboration with Montana, draws inspiration from a significant moment in his early career, specifically a memorable trip to Germany where he first tasted wheat beer.
Montana expressed his enthusiasm for the lager, stating, “This beer is about sharing great moments while giving back to the Bay Area.” With an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 4.3%, Legends Lager is crafted for leisurely enjoyment in relaxed settings.
The new lager is priced at $19.99 per four-pack and is available in San Francisco, Chicago, and Baltimore. Furthermore, for every four-pack sold, $5 will be donated to the SF-Marin Food Bank, with a total contribution goal of up to $35,000. Each purchase helps support critical food security efforts in Northern California.
The combination of the Legends Lager launch and the charitable activities exemplifies how Guinness and Joe Montana aim to create meaningful community connections. Their partnership serves as a testament to the potential of combining great beer with philanthropic efforts to make a positive impact.
