Guillermo del Toro’s eagerly anticipated adaptation of Frankenstein is approaching its release, with Netflix introducing new character posters that highlight the film’s principal cast. This gothic rendition will hit select theaters on October 17 before becoming available globally on Netflix on November 7, 2025.

The newly revealed posters feature Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as The Creature, Mia Goth as Elizabeth Harlander, Christoph Waltz as Heinrich Harlander, and Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein. The ensemble cast also includes Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Christian Convery, Ralph Ineson, and Charles Dance. The narrative centers around Victor Frankenstein, a scientist whose quest to create life leads to devastating outcomes for both him and his creation.

Mia Goth, portraying Elizabeth, expressed her apprehension about joining the ambitious project. In an interview with Variety, she shared, “I’ve never been so scared stepping into a movie. I really haven’t. It was a lot for me, and I was always in my head. I kept thinking to myself, ‘Guillermo del Toro is making Frankenstein, the movie you’ve always wanted him to make, and I get to be a part of that.’”

Additionally, Guillermo del Toro is set to host an IMAX screening and Q&A session at the TCL Chinese Theatre on October 31, inviting fans to dress as characters from his films.

This production represents the culmination of del Toro’s lifelong fascination with Frankenstein, a journey that began when he was just seven years old after watching James Whale’s classic films. He remarked, “Gothic horror became my church, and Boris Karloff my Messiah,” reflecting on the profound influence the genre has had on him.

Positive early reviews have begun to surface, with the film boasting an 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes from 100 critics. The release of the character posters coincides with the unveiling of a second trailer that offered an in-depth look at Elordi’s depiction of The Creature, along with the film’s hauntingly poetic atmosphere.

Fans are eagerly waiting to see how del Toro’s unique vision will bring the timeless tale of Frankenstein to life on screen.
