Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad has delivered a pointed message to the Opposition in Fiji, urging them to cease spreading negativity and instead recognize the government’s economic accomplishments. During a parliamentary session, he likened the situation to the narratives shared around a grog bowl, a common informal gathering in Fijian culture, emphasizing the importance of selective storytelling.
Professor Prasad asserted the government’s transparency and accountability in economic assessments, challenging the Opposition’s reluctance to embrace positive news. He encouraged members of Parliament to acknowledge the genuine progress achieved under the current administration, stressing, “Sometimes, if you praise the good news, accept the good news, it’s good for you.”
