Last season, he led the Gamecocks with a scoring average of 14.1 points per game, contributing to a remarkable 26-8 record that propelled the team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. Head coach Lamont Paris, in his fourth year, was recognized as the 2024 SEC Coach of the Year following a historic turnaround.

Myles Stute, a graduate guard, will also play a pivotal role for South Carolina. After having an injury-plagued season and granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA, Stute brings considerable experience to the squad with 65 SEC game appearances and 1,800 minutes played. His impressive shooting skills are evident, boasting a career 3-point percentage of 37.5.

Additionally, the Gamecocks are excited about their remarkable five-man freshman class, led by Eli Ellis. The skilled guard from Hickory, N.C., earned accolades as a two-time Overtime Elite MVP and was instrumental in leading his team to the OTE Championship, averaging 32.1 points, 6.7 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals during the 2024-25 season.

NC State, under the leadership of new head coach Will Wade, has similarly transformed its roster with nine transfers, most notably Darrion Williams, the Preseason ACC Player of the Year. Williams averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game last season while helping Texas Tech reach the Elite Eight. Wade, who previously coached at LSU and led McNeese State to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, will be eager to make his mark with the Wolfpack.
