Jack Grealish is finding new life in his football career at Everton, playing under manager David Moyes. The 30-year-old, who shone at Aston Villa during his early years, saw a dramatic shift after his £100 million transfer to Manchester City in 2021. Since then, he has struggled to replicate his previous form.

Currently on loan at Everton with an option for a permanent transfer, Grealish’s market value has waned, primarily due to his age and the surplus of wingers available to City’s manager, Pep Guardiola. Everton is reportedly in negotiations to secure Grealish for around £30 million this summer, presenting a promising opportunity for both the club and the player, considering his potential impact on the left wing.

However, despite the promising aspects of his move to Everton, Grealish faces challenges in regaining a spot in the England national team. While he ranks third in the Premier League assists this season with six, behind only Bruno Fernandes and Rayan Cherki, some believe he still has more to prove to warrant selection for the upcoming World Cup.

Andy Dunn, writing for the Sunday Mirror, noted that while Grealish is enjoying increased playing time and overall progression at Everton, it may not be enough for him to re-enter the national conversation ahead of the major tournament. He emphasized the need for Grealish to elevate his performance to ensure he remains on the radar of head coach Thomas Tuchel, stating, “It would be hard to argue his move to Everton has not been a good one… But in terms of output, there has not been enough.”

Moyes has praised Grealish for his contributions this season, and the player has already made history at Everton by breaking a 12-year-old record with four assists in his first two Premier League appearances. Nonetheless, to secure a place in the England squad, especially with fierce competition from players like Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer, Grealish must quickly return to peak form.

As the international break approaches, with England’s next matches being pivotal before Tuchel selects his 26-man roster for the World Cup, the onus is on Grealish to find his best performances again. His journey at Everton has seen him become a fan favorite, and with consistent effort, he could potentially reclaim his spot in the national team as they eye a successful tournament in June.
