A new initiative aimed at enhancing safety at the Sri Sanatan Dharam Wailoaloa Laxmi Vishnu Temple in Nadi has been launched with significant support from the government. The project was officially commissioned by Charan Jeath Singh, the Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Culture, Heritage, Arts, and Public Enterprises.

Financed through the Multi-Ethnic Grant Program for the financial year 2024–2025, the government has allocated $9,672 specifically for the procurement of fencing materials. In a display of community spirit, the construction labor is being provided voluntarily by both the temple management and local community members.

Minister Singh emphasized that this initiative not only serves to bolster the temple’s safety but also represents the government’s ongoing commitment to assisting community organizations. By supporting such endeavors, the government aims to promote unity and social cohesion throughout Fiji. This project exemplifies the collective responsibility the community shares in protecting their cultural heritage and sacred places, showcasing the strength of collaboration as a vital element in ensuring a safe environment for all.
