Graham Ike shone for No. 21 Gonzaga, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds as the Bulldogs secured an 83-68 victory over Oklahoma in the Bad Boy Mowers Series held at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night. Tyon Grant-Foster contributed 14 points, while Jalen Warley and Braden Huff each added 13 points, with the duo combining for 17 rebounds. Freshman point guard Mario Saint-Supry also made a notable impact, totaling eight points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
For Oklahoma (1-1), Nijel Pack led the scoring with 20 points, followed closely by Xzayvier Brown, who contributed 19 points. Derrion Reid chipped in with 11 points as well.
The game kicked off with vigor, as Ike initiated a strong 12-3 run that propelled Gonzaga ahead 15-11 just over four minutes into the contest. While Reid’s free throws closed the gap to 19-18 for the Sooners, Gonzaga responded with a dominant offensive display, scoring 20 of the next 25 points to extend their lead to 17 points, highlighted by Warley’s three-point play just before halftime.
Gonzaga demonstrated offensive efficiency, shooting 54% from the field and securing 10 offensive rebounds, translating to 11 second-chance points en route to a commanding 49-30 halftime lead.
Looking ahead, Oklahoma will return home to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday, while Gonzaga will host No. 23 Creighton in an anticipated matchup that promises to attract significant attention. This victory reinforces Gonzaga’s strong start to the season, setting the tone for their upcoming games and solidifying their position in the national rankings.
