Tom Golisano has pledged an impressive $253 million towards the establishment of the new “Golisano Children’s Alliance,” which will support several children’s hospitals across the country. During an announcement made on Tuesday, Golisano revealed that six new hospitals will incorporate his name, joining existing Golisano Children’s Hospitals affiliated with major institutions such as the University of Rochester Medical Center and Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
The new alliance partners and their respective funding amounts will enable these hospitals to maintain their independent operations while fostering collaboration in research, training, and advocacy for enhanced pediatric healthcare nationwide. This united approach emphasizes shared learning and collective effort, ensuring that children and families can access top-quality medical care conveniently.
Golisano highlighted the thorough research carried out by Erica Dayton, director of the Golisano Foundation, who visited each hospital before selecting them for participation in the alliance. He expressed pride in the project and emphasized the importance of the collaborative framework it creates. Representatives from the selected hospitals were present during the announcement, showcasing the strong commitment each institution has to improving pediatric healthcare.
“The idea of the alliance is very important to the hospitals, more so than I ever thought,” Golisano stated, underlining the significance of their collective mission. Members of the alliance are expected to convene once or twice annually to exchange knowledge, strategies, and best practices.
Golisano’s dedication to improving the lives of children through this initiative reflects his belief in the transformative power of compassionate care. He remarked, “Few things have brought me as much pride, as much fulfillment as investing in children,” reinforcing his commitment to bettering pediatric healthcare across the nation.
