During his address, PM Manele recognized the central role that land plays in the identity and culture of the nation. While he condemned the unlawful destruction of property, he noted that such actions are often driven by strong emotions and a deep-seated desire for recognition. “As a nation, land is central to our identity and way of life. These actions reflect strong emotions, and to address them constructively, we must come together for dialogue to seek lawful and customary solutions,” he stated.
The Prime Minister called on Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML), local chiefs, community leaders, and the youth of Central Guadalcanal to maintain peace and work together to prevent any further escalation of the situation.
