In a thrilling display of football, we secured a decisive victory over West Ham at the London Stadium, with an astonishing flurry of goals coming in the first half of the match.
The scoring began early in the 10th minute when Gabriel netted a header from a corner, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Leandro Trossard quickly doubled our lead, tapping in a pass from Bukayo Saka. Saka then earned a penalty, which Martin Odegaard converted, and soon after, Kai Havertz made it 4-0 by scoring from Trossard’s excellent assist.
West Ham responded with a sudden resurgence, scoring two goals in quick succession. Aaron Wan-Bissaka found the net, followed by Emerson, who curled in a free-kick, narrowing our lead. However, just before halftime, we were awarded a second penalty, which Bukayo Saka converted, bringing the score to 5-2 at the break.
Throughout the first half, we controlled possession and showcased a powerful attacking style, outpacing West Ham and taking advantage of set pieces. Gabriel’s header marked his fourth goal of the season, all scored from corners. The first half was remarkable not only for the score but also for the fact that it featured seven goals, a rarity in Premier League history.
The second half saw a shift in momentum, with both teams threatening but without further goals. Defensively, we held strong, maintaining our three-goal lead and securing our third consecutive victory, having scored a remarkable 13 goals in the last week. This puts us in an excellent position as we head into a busy December schedule.
Looking forward, we have an exciting matchup against Manchester United at home on Wednesday, followed by another local derby against Fulham the following Sunday. With our current form, there is much to be hopeful about as we navigate the busy festive period.
Overall, this match exemplified our attacking prowess and resilience in reclaiming control despite the brief West Ham comeback. Exciting times lie ahead for our team!
